I wouldn’t recommend something without trying it out myself…

My thoughts? The book is SUPER high quality, gorgeous, and will definitely last generations. I also love having my grandparents’ memories and photos all in one place, rather than scattered across various google drives, albums, and journals. You know what I had before? Computer paper stapled together! This was a HUGE upgrade!

You may be thinking: wait! Aren’t you all about friend-loss? Why didn’t you make a book for your friend?

One day, I will. I’m not ready to make a permanent book for Lauren yet — there’s a lot I’m still processing. That’s the thing about grief — it’s messy, and weird, and different for every loss and every person.

Coming soon…

I’m working on a friend-loss grief journal, with writing prompts to remember and honor your friend. It’s a space where you can scrapbook, and be messy, and color in pictures (because I don’t know about you, but when I’m overwhelmed the only thing I can manage is to color inside some lines).

In the weeks after my friend Lauren’s death, I desperately tried to record my memories. But I wrote them in a dogeared journal that I later lost track of, which I then found years later under my bed. It was literally covered in dust. That’s when I realized I wanted to create a beautiful and comforting home base for memories, specifically for those grieving the loss of friends.
